Attorney

Laura Sepulveda, Esq.

Laura’s immigrant experience guides her commitment to social justice and to work with the immigrant community. She is keenly aware of the challenges immigrants face in the United States. Laura immigrated to this country as a teenager. She lived in Florida, and like many other immigrants, she was by herself and didn’t speak English. She couldn’t go to school, as she needed to work to support herself, so she worked in restaurants and cleaned houses until later in life, when she was able to learn English and pursue an education. Laura started her work in the immigration field over a decade ago, working in community organizing and advocacy with pro-immigration organizations in support of Comprehensive Immigration Reform and the Dream Act. She has worked and volunteered with several nonprofit immigration services providers in different capacities. This has included being a Fully Accredited Representative under the DOJ at Catholic Charities Diocese of Metuchen in New Brunswick, New Jersey, and serving as the North Texas Immigration Director at Refugee Services of Texas for their offices in Dallas, Fort Worth, and Amarillo. Since 2011, she has been volunteering with El Centro Hispanoamericano, a nonprofit in Plainfield, New Jersey. She joined their Board of Trustees in 2012 and is currently the first immigrant and first woman Chair of the Board.

Laura received her Bachelor's Degree in Political Science from Columbia University in New York. Her love for immigration law took her to pursue a Law Degree from Syracuse University, while still maintaining a successful career in the legal field. Throughout the years, Laura has represented thousands of immigrants in their immigration matters. She takes great pride in taking a personalized and compassionate approach to her practice. She highly believes in empowering immigrants while providing accurate legal information, and making sure clients understand what to expect from the immigration process.

Operations Manager

John Sepulveda, MBA, CAMS-Audit

John is the son of Colombian immigrants. He witnessed first hand the struggles his family had to go through to achieve lawful status in the United States. John was born in New Jersey, but spent part of his youth in his family’s hometown of Medellin, Colombia. After he returned to the United States to pursue an education, he found himself separated from his parents and struggling to juggle school and adapting to a country that, in many aspects, was unknown to him. John attended University of South Florida in Tampa and received a Bachelors of Arts degree in International Business and a Master of Business Administration (MBA) with a specialization in International Business & Management. His goal when he was younger was to become an immigration attorney. So he did the next best thing: he married one. For years now, John has supported the work of many nonprofits providing free and low cost legal services and humanitarian assistance to underserved immigrants.
